He has been writing extensively on English history as well as on the history of Japan, China, and Nepal. His books are largely based on his field research he has done in the respected regions throughout the years. Aside from the books, he has written innumerable articles for various science magazines. Even though that he has conducted extensive field research in manifold regions worldwide as his most distinctive work is regarded the one about Gurung people in Nepal. During his field research, he had recorded many videos and placed them for public viewing on the internet. His YouTube channel is full of videos and interview from almost every place in which he have worked or conducted some research. In December 2000 he joined Mark Turin, fellow anthropologist, in the making of the Digital Himalaya Project. He also took active participation in the world oral literature project.
