DeHaan founded Christel House International in 1998 which helps students. DeHaan is known for her generosity to arts in Indiana and has three honorary doctorate degrees. RCI was founded by Christel and her husband Jon DeHaan in 1974 and has become one of the largest timeshare companies in the world. DeHaan was ranked #19 on the inaugural Forbes list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women in 2015.
