Miller made headlines in 2005 when his fellow Bears teammate Olin Kreutz broke his jaw during some kind of brawl. The team initially blamed Miller for breaking his own jaw as he tried to get out of bed in the middle of the night. Both Kreutz and Miller ended up receiving $50,000 fines from the league for the incident. At the time of his retirement, Miller played in 192 career NFL games and made 164 starts. Since leaving football, he spent two seasons coaching North Shore Country Day School’s football team in the Chicago suburbs.
