Even though he entered politics, Miller has remained active in real estate through his development company that expanded to the development of planned communities. He joined local politics in 1988 when he got appointed to the Diamond Bar, California, Municipal Advisory Council. The next year, he was elected to the city’s first council and served as mayor in 1992. Following his bid to run in the State Senate elections and his tenure in the California Assembly from 1995 to 1999, he got elected to U.S. House of Representatives, where he still serves.
