Koch Foods was founded in 1973 as a one room chicken deboning and cutting operation. The company acquired feed mills and slaughterhouses and now has over 14,000 employees. Joseph Grendys joined the company in 1984 and was offered 50% equity by founder Fred Koch. In 1992 Grendys bought out Koch. Grendys currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
