Arkin has gradually become fully integrated in the family business and he was the one to lead its transformation from a small firm into a generics manufacturer. In 1983, he incorporated the company as Agis Industries, running it under that name for two decades before selling it to Perrigo, the largest producer of private label over-the-counter pharmaceuticals in the USA. Today, he has invested a total of $100 million in around 15 medical startup companies, most of which are under the umbrella of Arkin Holdings.
