He started out in interior decorating and left Kerala for Oman at 26. He started Sobha Developers Limited in Bangalore in 1995. He is involved in a $9 billion Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City District One deal in partnership with Dubai’s Meydan Group which will feature over 1,500 luxury villas, beaches, and man-made lagoons. Menon is also involved in the Sobha Hartland which is a complex of 280 villas including condos, schools, and a shopping mall. He plans on giving away half of his fortune as part of the Giving Pledge and has earmarked a fifth for Oman.
