Her first television roles came in the mid-1960s on the TV series The Doctors and the Nurses, The Defenders, and The Patty Duke Show. In 1983 she starred as Grace McKenzie in the series The Yellow Rose. Anspach also starred in the 1985 TV mini-series Space and in the TV series The Slap Maxwell Story from 1987 to 1988. She also starred in the movies The Landlord, Five Easy Pieces, Play It Again, Sam, Blume in Love, The Big Fix, Running, The Devil and Max Devlin, Gas, Montenegro, Misunderstood, Into The Fire, and Dancing at the Harvest Moon. Anspach won 3rd place for the Golden Laurel at the 1971 Laurel Awards for Star of Tomorrow, Female for Five Easy Pieces. She was also nominated for a Genie Award for Best Performance by a Foreign Actress for Running at the 1980 Genie Awards.
